DeviceImage SmartEdge Backup is a backup solution that, in comparison to conventional software, does not need installation or configuration. This solution is integrated into the external hard drive and equipped with much intelligence. It determines all the necessary settings and configures itself automatically just during the first startup.
All you need in order to create a backup is: connect DeviceImage SmartEdge hard drive to an available USB-port on your computer and start up the computer.
If your system suddenly stops running, or shows other irregularities, that might be caused by viruses or trojans, then this is the perfect time to think about the full system restore. Performing the restore operation with DeviceImage SmartEdge solution is as simple as a backup. Restore can be started and executed with a single push of a button "Start Restore".

DeviceImage SmartEdge backup solution is available in three license types:
1. "Simple" - it generates only full backups of used sectors.
2. "DedupSpeed" - The deduplication is applied to eliminate redundant information in the backups. This considerably shortens the time of backup and optimizes the storage space used for backup archives.
3. "Encryption1024" - Before archiving, all data are encrypted using the strongest encryption (1024 bit key length). This ensures that the backed up data can not be accessed by unauthorized persons.
This ultra portable backup solution is primarily intended for mobile users. Together with a laptop, notebook or netbook the small 2.5-inch hard disk takes not much space and is an important companion for the road.
